My oldest loooooves Halloween. I’m not entirely sure where his love for it came from, but we go with it because he gets so passionate and enthusiastic. And, let’s be real, who doesn’t love dressing up, getting candy, and all the other fun stuff Halloween entails?

This craft is super easy, and there are a few ways you can do it! All you need is:

Supplies:

  • Toilet paper rolls or paper toll rolls
  • paint
  • construction paper
  • googley eyes (optional)
  • pipe cleaners (optional)

Directions:

Decide what you’re making! Goose wanted to make a bat, Frankenstein, and a monster- so that’s what we did!

First, we painted. Even Mouse got in on the fun. His were more unconventional, but you gotta love a two-year-old’s love for paint and glue. If you don’t want to get into the mess of glue, you could also use colored construction paper to glue to the tubes for the correct colors!

Once the painted rolls had dried, we added to our little rolls. For the bats, we cut out black wings (free-hand drawing, but you could print an outline of a bat if needed!) and two triangles for ears.

Then we glued the eyes on and Goose drew a mouth and fangs on his.

For Frankenstein, we did his hair but tracing the toilet-paper roll and then cutting out his hair. Goose drew his face. We then hole-punched room and strung a pipe cleaner through for his arms!

Lastly, Goose created his own monster. We did the crazy hair by making a bunch of holes and criss-crossing the pipe-cleaners through them.

BAM. That’s it! Paint in the morning, glue the next day (or same day afternoon) and you’re set with some fun little monsters to use as table-toppers, porch decorations, or even hang up for the enjoyment of trick-or-treaters!

Happy Halloween!
